Here are the books I've published to date.
As a writer, I'VE FOUND THAT I DO NOT focus or specialize On any one particular genre. I've written books for children, young adults, and grownups, as well as poetry, which you will find in some of my children's books. There are still more books inside of me just waiting to get onto paper, some that are just about finished, and others that are sequels to what I've already written that I don't bother with unless the original is well received by readers. I hope to write still more stories to share with the world, and I hope that you and the world will enjoy what I've done thus far, and that you'll want more of it (so I'll know which sequels to start working on). And if you read any of my books, could I ask if you'd consider leaving a review of it wherever you got it from? And by all means, please share this link on your own pages, with your teachers, friends, and your family members. :-).
"Another Chicken Story: The Stranger Danger," is a new approach for opening the door to the difficult conversation of stranger dangers. Consider that each year in America, up to 150 children are lured away by people they don't know, and in the UK that number can reach more than 270. While the odds are good that your child won't be one of those abducted, those odds won't mean a thing to the children or parents of the children who are taken away by strangers who mean to do them harm. Most of those children will be found, but many of them will never return home to their families. This simple book will afford you the opportunity to explain to your child what they should do if a stranger, or even a friend or someone else they know, tries to get them to go somewhere with them or do something they know they shouldn't do, or that they don't feel comfortable about doing.
The Slave's Diary is the story of a man named Kimbo who chronicled his life after being kidnapped as a boy from the jungles of Africa. Taken with his father, the two are led to various slave holding facilities before Kimbo is put aboard a slave ship and carried through the trade triangle to be sold into the 19th century Virginia slave trade. Raised by the overseer of his first plantation, he's sold at auction after tragedy strikes his new family, and when his new owner volunteers him to fight against other slaves, Kimbo runs away. While on the run, he rescues a lost white girl, is captured by the Pikes, and is taken to jail by a paddy roller (slave bounty hunter). After his new owner nearly kills him, with the help of a new friend, Kimbo finds freedom at the cross and decides to return to Africa where he and his family are attacked by pirates on the way. This book was an award winner for the Royal Palm Literary Awards.
The Pandemic Preparedness Guide is a book that describes what the world will look like if and when a deadly virus such as Ebola or Avian Influenza (Bird Flu), becomes a pandemic. The experts say we're overdue for an avian influenza pandemic, the worst of which occurred in 1918, killing 50 to 100 million people in less than 2 years time. With this book you will learn what you should be doing right now to increase your chances of survival, what supplies you should be gathering, and what plans and laws our government has put in place to deal with the mayhem that will quickly encompass our nation at such a time.
When an ancient legend promises a troubled boy two wishes, he discovers the need for them after meeting a beautiful girl who's on a mission of revenge. Their journey leads the two of them to enter a sword and bow competition in the courtyard of the king at Shadow Lake, and just when the dish of revenge is about to be served, something terrible and amazing occurs. The story of The Jade Lion is tied together with twists and turns that you won't see coming until you're already there.
My Fibromyalgia Journal is a nearly 400 page journal that you can use on a daily basis for an entire year to document your pain levels, the medications you used, any unusual physical activity undertaken, and what foods you've consumed. There's also a body chart on each page for you to highlight where your pain is localized on any given day. By keeping a journal such as this, you will be able to look back and see when and where your pain has increased or decreased, so you might see what foods to avoid, what activities you may want to curtail, and even if there are medications that alleviate or compound your problems so that you can discuss them with your physician or physical therapist. On the latter pages, there's room for personal notes and for listing websites, email addresses, or phone numbers of interest to you on this subject matter. What a thoughtful gift for the fibromyalgia sufferers in your life.
Similar to the My Fibromyalgia Journal, the Chronic Pain Journal is a 400 page journal that you can use daily for an entire year, to document your pain levels, the medications you used, any unusual physical activity undertaken, and what foods were consumed. The House Flipping & Home Remodel Journal is not about telling you how to do either of these jobs, but rather it is meant to enhance them, using a simple "fill in the blanks" format. With any construction project, one of the keys to success is organization, and the last thing you want to do is carry your project around in a dog-eared notebook or on scrap pieces of paper and post-it notes with crucial phone numbers, measurements, or prices on them. Well good news, you won't need to do that anymore. Whether you're an experienced house flipper, about to begin your first flip, or perhaps you simply want to remodel your own home, this journal will help you get organized so that you can get the job done efficiently. Once you're done with the project you save the journal for future referencing of tasks done, measurements, contractors used, etc., and lastly, you can use this journal at tax time as a record of your work.
The ABC's of African American Inventions is an educational book for nearly every age. During the month of February we celebrate the accomplishments of people of color during Black History Month, a tradition started by Dr. Carter Woodson in 1926. Yet while some are content to set aside only one month out of the year to recognize these accomplishments, perhaps they’re unaware of how different the world would be if not for the contributions of African Americans to our everyday way of life. The subject matter of this book is meant to help younger children learn the alphabet and stir their creativity, while at the same time offering a glimpse to the older readers, including adults, of the African American influence to our collective history. It is my hope that this book will reveal a sense of belonging that some people of color may not realize is rightfully theirs, while at the same time inspiring every reader to search their mind for the next great invention that could change our lives and perhaps even the world. History has shown us that rather than large corporations, it’s often the common man or woman who first recognizes the need for something new or innovative.
Harmony Farms is the story about a farm that's gone haywire when the farmer who cares for the animals is no longer around to look after them. It doesn't take long before the animals begin to question what their job is on the farm, and then set out to change the natural order of things. The story grows even more complicated when a turkey named Wheezer becomes convinced that someone is out to get him, and he attempts to become something other than what he is. It doesn't turn out at all like he thought it would, but it was fun to watch. So come along and see what happens next on our farm.
How to Make Your Water Heater last longer, is a book that will explain a couple of key things that most people, with some degree of mechanical ability, can do themselves to make their hot water heaters last longer. It's not all that difficult or costly, but the price of doing nothing could be more than you'll want to pay if your tank ruptures at an inconvenient time.
This 3 month pain tracking journal is for anyone who's been diagnosed with and suffers from Fibromyalgia. It can be used to keep a daily record of where you're experiencing pain; what your pain levels are; what OTC or prescription medicines were taken; what types of foods were consumed; or what physical activities were performed on any given day. All of these things can aid you or your caregivers in detecting patterns of what may trigger or exacerbate your pain. - For example, it's not uncommon for certain foods or food groups to exacerbate Fibromyalgia pain in some people. By keeping a record of such dietary matters, you may come to realize what foods you'll want to curtail or avoid altogether (such as switching from potatoes to sweet potatoes has helped some people). - It also offers you, in the latter pages, a space to write notes and to make a list of useful websites or support groups which may be able to tell you what medications or treatments are working for them, perhaps even direct you to doctors or clinics that they like. You can make note of different holistic options, or perhaps make a list of websites that offer legal guidelines to aid you if you decide to apply for disability benefits.
Told in metered rhyme, Terry's Round House is the story of a young boy who sees his neighborhood changing with the construction of a dome shaped house.
Upon gathering the courage to go up to the house, the youngster meets a boy his own age, named Terry, and a new friendship begins. However, he's unable to look past the odd shape of his friend's house, so he begins a journey around town to look for other types of houses that people choose to call home.
This shortened version of the one year Chronic Pain Journal, can be used to keep a diary or record of your ailment, so that you might be able to spot a trend or connection between your pain levels and various medications used, physical activities undertaken, or perhaps a link between certain foods or food groups that may be having an adverse affect on your pain levels.
The latter pages can serve as a personal journal to document your emotional well being or stressful situations that may have caused a flare up of your pain levels. And on the final pages you'll find a place to list internet links for important web sites, support groups, or for listing contact information of new friends with similar issues or ailments.
